Biographical Summary
Derbyshire in May 2011 was promoted to President of Technology for KBR Inc., an American engineering, construction and private military contracting company, formerly a subsidiary of Halliburton, headquartered in Houston. Derbyshire is responsible for growing KBR's global technology licensing business, which is active in refining, petrochemical, chemical, coal monetization and synthesis gas segments. Derbyshire succeeds Tim Challand, who led the Technology business unit since its inception in 2007 and retired after 23 years of service to KBR. Derbyshire has a 30-year background in managing companies involved in engineering design, technology licensing, project execution and customer services. Before his promotion, he was Senior Vice President, Commercial Management for KBR Technology, responsible for the business unit's sales, marketing, strategy and acquisitions functions. Before joining KBR in 2008 he held leadership positions with Invensys Plc, Aspen Technology Inc., Setpoint and ABB Lummus.
