Biographical Summary
Scotsman Dickie is a dyed-in-the-wool banker who has held senior operational roles at several major global financial institutions. He started his career in the late 1970s, working for Clydesdale Bank in his home town of Glasgow. After 17 years in Scotland, he moved to Australia to work for Clydesdale's parent company. He returned to the UK four years later and held several senior operational positions at financial firms, eventually landing at Bradford & Bingley, now part of Santander Bank. As Vice President and Chief Operations & Systems Officer for American International Group Inc. (AIG), Dickie provides strategic direction and leadership to the Operations and IT functions in AIG. He joined AIG in July 2008, just a few months before the company's collapse helped trigger the global economic meltdown, and has since worked closely with CEO Robert Benmosche and other senior leaders on getting the company back on its financial feet by focusing on its core core property-casualty and life operations - and at the same time pay back Uncle Sam.
