Biographical Summary

As CEO of Enbridge Inc., Daniel was--and remains--one of the key power brokers in Canadian oil. Even after leaving the company, he has continued to speak publicly in Canada on energy issues. Enbridge controls the country's largest network of pipelines exporting oil to the United States - its biggest customer - and continues to expand. Daniel stepped up activity around Alberta's lucrative oil sands and in 2008 approved a $3 billion pipeline extension that would provide a direct link between Alberta and Gulf Coast refineries. In 2012, Daniel retired from the company and President Al Monaco was named as his successor.
