President and CEO, Cabela's Inc.
Biographical Summary
Millner has had a passion for guns and hunting since his early years growing up in Newport News, Virginia. But his college study of Greek, Ancient Hebrew and Philosophy–as well as the fact that he spent many years in the furniture business–made him an unlikely leader for the firearms industry. Nevertheless, the investment banking firm that acquired Remington Arms Company in 1994 convinced him to come on board, and Millner has been an outspoken leader for the industry ever since. He served as Remington's CEO for a decade before making the jump to retailer Cabela's in 2009 to lead its more than 13,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada. Cabela's has long been one of the leading retailers of Remington products.
