Biographical Summary
A native of India, Dhanda got his undergraduate degree at the University of New Delhi before coming to the U.S. and earning an MBA and a PhD in management at Rutgers University. He worked as an adjunct professor at Rutgers Business School before moving into banking at JPMorgan Chase. Saying he has "never had a technology course," and that he "grew up on the business side," Dhanda often sounds more like a marketer than a technologist. He says his charter is to use technology to grow the business, "bring the brand alive" and make banking easier for customers. He manages an IT budget of approximately $1.2 billion and a staff of 4,000 people. He is active on the social scene in Pittsburgh, and a longtime supporter of the Mattress Factory Art Museum, a Pittsburgh museum of contemporary art that specializes in room-size art installations.
