President, North America, Hershey Company
Biographical Summary
Michele Buck started working as a babysitter at the age of 12, and she has been hard at work ever since. She says, "My parents worked for everything they had, and they expected their children to do the same." After working her way through college and graduate school, she joined the corporate world where she "actively sought out a wide variety of assignments to build my skill set. I started marketing high-impulse snacks, then marketed a commodity business, then a high-margin business, and then ran new product development." This wide range of experiences brought her to The Hershey Company in 2005, where she was charged with generating excitement in the snack market. Buck was named the Company's Chief Marketing Officer in 2007 and was then promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Growth Officer in 2011. In this role, Buck was responsible for Hershey's Strategy and Vision, Innovation, Research and Development, The Hershey Experience, Consumer Insights and Public Affairs. In 2013 she was promoted to her current role, as the President of North America.
