Biographical Summary
A long-time executive in the brewing industry, Descheemaeker joined Delhaize in December 2008 after 12 years with InterBrew. At Delhaize, he served as CFO until 2012, when he was promoted to CEO of Europe. He began his career with the Belgian Ministry of Finance before moving to the private sector with Banque Paribus. He joined Belgian brewer InterBrew in 1996 and during his tenure handled the financial end of its 2004 acquisition of Ambev and its merger with Anheuser Busch in 2006, which created Anheuser Busch InBev.
