Lewis joined EMC in 2002 as Chief Technology Officer from HP where he led the enterprise storage division subsequent to the acquisition of Compaq by HP. In previous roles at Compaq Lewis led the company's storage software efforts. Most recently, Lewis ran EMC Ventures in Palo Alto. "Lewis leaves his legacy at EMC with a great track record in building out a great VC team in Palo Alto as well as being a key operating and visionary manager in turning EMC into a powerhouse," wrote John Furrier of Silicon Angle. He left EMC in 2012 to join the startup world. He is the founder of TekRocket, an LLC based in Pleasanton, CA that provides early stage investment and incubation capital for game-changing software and IT technologies. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Formation Data Systems, Inc., which, according to the company, is "revolutionizing how data is stored, managed, and delivered in the modern Enterprise data center." There is no additional information available on the company as of June 2013.
