Biographical Summary

Few executives have had a more diverse career than DeVard. The former Verizon VP spent 11 years in the marketing department at Pillsbury before changing course to sell luxury suites for the NFL's Minnesota Vikings. Two years later, she ran a casino in New Orleans for gambling titan Harrah's then moved to cosmetics as VP of marketing for Revlon. She joined Verizon in 2003 and rose to senior VP of brand marketing before leaving in 2007 to work as a consultant. In November 2010 she appointed CMO of Nokia Corporation by new CEO Stephen Elop, who met DeVard when she was doing some consulting for his former employer, Microsoft. DeVard left Nokia on 30 June 2012, reported MarketWatch.
