Biographical Summary

When Ed Mueller took the helm at Qwest Communications International in August 2007, he was charged with leading a financially stable but unwanted company. In mid-2010 he landed a deal that he believes will help secure Qwest's future - a combination with CenturyLink that provides more opportunities than either company would have alone. The deal closed in 2011, and Mueller is now free to spend a lot of time in the Rocky Mountains and fly fishing, in addition to serving on several corporate boards. He spent a year on the CenturyLink board, stepping down in May 2012 - a year ahead of schedule.
