Executive Profiles

Terry J. Lundgren
Chairman, President and CEO,
Macy's, Inc.
Last Updated: 06/08/2010

Biographical Summary

As a teen, Lundgren bagged groceries, bussed tables and was the only one out of six kids to attend college. Today, he keeps his office right above Macy's world-famous flagship store on New York's 34th street. A retail veteran who started his career at Bullock's, Lundgren has made some bold moves, rebranding Federated–and Chicago's beloved Marshall Fields–as Macy's and building a portfolio of private labels. But with a troubled retail sector, the demand for lower prices from consumers and perhaps too many underperforming stores, Lundgren has his hands full.
