Biographical Summary
A former college football linebacker, D'Amelio has carried the grit and determination he displayed on the gridiron into the business world. He started his career with Bell Labs in 1979 and spent more than 25 years in the telecommunications business, and eventually became the CFO of Lucent Technologies in 2001. D'Amelio moved into the pharmaceutical business in 2007 as CFO of pharmacy giant Pfizer, which produced $48 billion in revenue last year but is faced with declining sales.
