Arthur M. (Art) Cummings, II
Chief Security Officer, GE Company (General Electric Co.)
A former G-man and Navy SEAL, Cummings is Chief Security Officer for General Electric Company, charged with oversight of GE’s vast global security operations, intellectual property protection, crisis management, and business continuity processes in 160 countries involving a diverse business portfolio with global impact. He joined GE in August 2013 after spending three years as Chief Security Officer at Bridgewater Associates, where he developed a comprehensive security strategy and set of solutions designed to protect the critical assets of the company, specifically intellectual property (IP), human capital, and key assets. Prior to joining Bridgewater in May 2010 Cummings enjoyed a 23-year career with the FBI, where he rose to Executive Assistant Director and played a key role in the establishment of a post-911 national security strategy and operations plan encompassing counterterrorism, counterintelligence, intelligence, and weapons of mass destruction programs. Before joining the FBI in May 1987 Cummings spent eight years as a Navy SEAL, serving in such roles as Jump Master, Dive Master, Rapel Master, IED Instructor and Explosives Expert.
